The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office recently hired Deputy Cole Tweten and today he was sworn in. Cole comes to the sheriff’s office as an experienced, certified deputy. Cole grew up in Decorah, Iowa, and graduated from Decorah High School in 2018. Cole graduated from Hawkeye Community College in 2020, with a degree in Police Science. In February 2020, he was hired by the Mower County Sheriff’s Office in Minnesota as a jailer. Then in January 2021, he joined the Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office as a deputy sheriff. In his free time Cole enjoys spending time boating with family and friends, working out, woodworking, and trying new food on the grill.
