Specialties within job/position: As Sheriff, I serve as the chief peace officer of the county. Leading and managing the Sheriff's Office includes: patrol, investigations, jail operations, civil processes, court orders, court functions and community/public relations.

Off Duty Hobbies: I enjoy fitness and weight training, baseball, and being outdoors (hunting, fishing, canoeing, camping) with family and friends.

Voluntary Commitments/Organizations: I am a member of Stone Ridge Community Church, Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, Winneshiek County Historical Society, National Rifle Association (NRA), Oneota Food Coop, and the Iowa Sheriff’s and Deputies Association.  I also serve as a board member on the Winneshiek County 911 Service Board, Winneshiek County Emergency Management Commission, National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), County Social Services (CSS) Mental Health Advisory Committee, Community Partnership for Protecting Children (CPPC) Advisory Board and Helping Services of Northeast Iowa.
