NEW! “OFFICE HOUR MONDAYS!”

District 3 Winneshiek County Supervisor Shirley Vermace, and sometimes one other supervisor, will be available for at least one hour or until 1pm every Monday after the Board of Supervisor meetings for the community or county employees who have a question, concern, and/or an idea for the county! This new ‘office hours’ availability is an effort to create more transparency and communication between the supervisors and the community, and the supervisors and county employees. So COME ON IN to the Courthouse Annex and someone will be there after the BOS meeting until 1pm on Mondays!
(Of course, you can still contact any supervisor via phone or email, that contact information is under each of their names on the county website.)

The Governor’s Volunteer Service Award Recipients

Earlier this year Sean Snyder nominated two RSVP volunteers (Deb Tekippe and Carol Hemesath) for the Governor’s Volunteer Service Award. They were chosen as recipients last week.  Deb and Carol assist Sean Snyder  (Winneshiek County Emergency Management) often. Sean Snyder nominated them for the December 15, 2021 power outage assist here in Decorah.  Deb and Carol assisted Winneshiek County Emergency Management with opening a warming shelter for anyone in need.  Both continue to assist me with creating and developing plans.  Volunteer management and shelter and donations management are two of our latest projects to date.
